How the player works
Press play on any playlist and the player at the bottom takes over. It keeps playing while you click around the site. Use the moon button for the sleep timer (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or after the current song): the volume fades out slowly at the end. The loop button cycles through loop playlist, repeat one song and loop off, and shuffle gives a random order. Space plays or pauses. Each track has an MP3 button for a free download, and each playlist has an M3U8 file for VLC and other players. Night light (top bar) switches the page to a darker, dimmer look.
How the songs are chosen
Purrple Cat is an independent lofi project that has been making instrumental music since 2018, with 500+ songs. For this site we listened for slow, steady, soft songs with no sharp attacks and no sudden changes, then sorted them by mood into eight playlists. Only songs from the records released from 2020 onward are included. Every song has no lyrics.
What this site is not
It is not a streaming service, and it is not medical or safe-sleep advice. It is a free collection of calm instrumental music to listen to and to use. For sleep or safety questions about a child or about yourself, ask a health professional.

What are the best lullaby songs to play at bedtime?
Start with the Bedtime Routine Lullaby Mix on this page: 45 minutes that start warm and get softer. If you want one step only, pick a playlist: Wind-Down, Storybook, Twinkling Stars or Deep Sleep Lullabies.
Is this lullaby music free?
Yes. Every playlist streams free with no sign-up and no ads, and every track has a free MP3 download. The music is by Purrple Cat and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).
Are these lullabies instrumental?
Yes, all of them. There are no lyrics. They are gentle, slow instrumentals (lofi-style, with soft keys, guitar and pads) rather than sung nursery songs.
Is this “Twinkle, Twinkle” or “Brahms’ Lullaby”?
No. Those are traditional songs. This site only has original instrumental music by Purrple Cat, written in the same calm spirit. See the Classic lullabies page for the story of the famous ones.
Will this help my baby sleep?
We can’t promise that, and this site is not medical advice. Every child is different. Many people like a calm, consistent sound as part of an evening routine. For sleep or safety questions, ask your health professional.
Is there lullaby music for adults?
Yes. Late-Night Lullabies is slow, hazy instrumental music for grown-ups, and Deep Sleep Lullabies and Dreamy Lullabies work well for adults too.
Does it have a sleep timer and a fade-out?
Yes. Use the moon button in the player: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or after the current song. The music fades out slowly instead of stopping with a click. The Bedtime Routine mix sets a 45-minute timer for you.
Can I loop one song?
Yes. The loop button in the player cycles through three modes: loop the playlist, repeat the current song, and loop off.
How long are the playlists?
The eight playlists run from 39 min to 44 min. For longer listening there are 45-minute, 1-hour and 3-hour mixes, and the All-Night Lullaby Mix runs about 5 h 34 min before it repeats.
Can I use this music in my videos and livestreams?
Yes, with credit. Use it on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and other social media, in videos, streams, apps, shops and classrooms. Add the credit “Music by Purrple Cat”.
Will my videos get Content ID claims?
No. The music is not registered with Content ID, so videos, streams and VODs will not be claimed for it.
